Shakespeare is the best -

I am not at all a fan of poetry, especially love poetry. I am the most sentimental person in the world, but I hate mushy love stuff (I don't know what else to call it). Rand loves chick flicks - I can't stand them. However, because of this class I'm taking, I have to study everything from poems about childhood death (terrible subject) to onions (hmmm) - why they decide to torture us in this way, I don't know. But, I've struggled through it, and have come out really liking Shakespeare. I have never heard of this poem of his before, but I think it should be everywhere!

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments; love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O, no, it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, not no man ever loved.
